Paddy was born in the Wirral in 1973 and from an early age was drawn to the open spaces and wildlife around the Dee Estuary. Trips around the UK introduced him to the mountains of Snowdonia, the Lake District and Scotland. He has been heading back to such wild places ever since. He now lives with his wife Rachel, a contemporary fine artist and they regularly travel together to inspiring locations, in Britain and further afield.
A passion for photography began as a way to capture and record the scenery and conditions experienced on climbing trips and overseas travel. His interest has progressed into a passion and a method, not just to record nature and light, but to convey experiences and mood. This is done through careful selection of locations and conditions, coupled with composing images to simplify compositions.
